Analysis of subsidies and benefits: who will lose state aid
Citizens of Ukraine who receive subsidies or benefits to cover utility costs can check their eligibility for state support.
As reported by the Pension Fund, housing conditions are being inspected to determine whether the family is actually entitled to financial assistance.
In 2026, such inspections will remain an essential mechanism for monitoring the provision of subsidies.
When inspections are carried out
The inspection can be carried out in several situations. Most often, they check whether the housing is rented, as this may result in the loss of financial assistance. Particular attention is paid to apartments where several separate accounts are opened.
The commission may also detect a discrepancy between the actual number of residents and the data indicated in the registration documents. Particular attention is paid to households that use electric heaters or other alternative energy sources – in such cases, additional confirmation is required.
Based on the inspection results, an act is drawn up, an official document that serves as the basis for a decision on the continued provision of social support.
Who may lose a subsidy or benefits?
These inspections are not limited to housing subsidies and benefits for utility services. Inspection acts are also used to provide other types of state support, such as monthly payments for caregivers of persons with disabilities and assistance to single mothers and low-income families.
If the inspection reveals inaccurate information or violations of the conditions for receiving assistance, payments may be suspended or canceled. The Pension Fund emphasizes that these measures are aimed at a fair distribution of budget funds and preventing abuse in the social support system.
