SBU interrupted attack on Kropyvnytskyi CHPP: 16-year-old FSB agent arrested
The Security Service of Ukraine has detained another person who assisted the aggressor in carrying out attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure. This time, a 16-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi was detained, who received an assignment from the FSB to prepare a missile strike on a local thermal power plant.
According to the investigation, the girl was supposed to plant a disguised GPS tracker on the thermal power plant’s territory, to be hidden under the snow. Using these coordinates, the enemy intended to carry out an attack that could cause a power outage and disrupt heating for residents.
The Security Service reacted promptly, detaining the suspect near the thermal power plant fence after she tried to activate the beacon.
It was established that the girl received the assignment via a Telegram channel that published ads for easy earnings. It was there that the girl came into contact with FSB representatives.
At first, she performed other tasks for the aggressor: she filmed critical infrastructure and sent the footage to the FSB, after which she received a new instruction to prepare an attack on the CHP.
The financing for the purchase of the tracker was transferred from Russia to her bank card. Later, the girl ordered the device online and picked up the package at the post office.
During the search, a smartphone with evidence of cooperation with enemy special services was found on her.
SBU investigators informed her of suspicion under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns state treason under martial law.
The detainee is in custody, and if proven guilty, she faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The Security Service of Ukraine carried out the operation in the Kirovohrad region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
Recent news indicates that Ukrainian counterintelligence, with the support of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has detained another agent of the aggressor in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He turned out to be a mobilized serviceman from Dnipro, who coordinated air strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region.
