Rising utility costs: which payments will increase in January
Starting in 2026, the mechanism for calculating gas delivery costs will change in Ukraine. Now the cost of delivery will depend on consumption volumes and tariffs of specific gas distribution companies.
As noted, the gas tariffs themselves remain unchanged, but the volumes to which they will apply are changing.
The innovation will affect consumers who consumed more gas in the previous period (from October 1 to September 30) than in prior periods. For example, if a family used 600 cubic meters of gas, the monthly delivery fee was calculated at 50 cubic meters. If next year the consumption increases to 840 cubic meters, the delivery fee will be 70 cubic meters per month.
The delivery cost will also depend on the gas distribution company’s tariff. In Kyiv, for example, the Kyivgaz tariff is UAH 0.384 per cubic meter. In this case, if in 2025 a family paid UAH 19.2 for delivery, from January 2026, this amount will increase to UAH 26.88.
Experts note that delivery prices in Kyiv are among the lowest due to the large number of consumers, which helps stabilize costs.
You can find the current tariff and the exact fee amount on your gas distribution company’s website or in your gas bill.
It was previously reported that utility services could increase significantly, eating up a significant part of people’s salaries. Information was also announced about changes in the structuring of gas payments and possible power outages.
