Results of raids: millions in damages and protocols for violators

According to the results of the measures taken, hundreds of administrative protocols were drawn up, and violators are obliged to compensate for significant losses caused to the state.

The most high-profile environmental violations

Waste pollution in the Carpathian region. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, large landfills were discovered in the Oleshansky village council, posing a threat to soil and water. Damage was estimated at 9.7 million hryvnias. The police are already handling the case.

Pollution of the Prut River. In Chernivtsi, a water utility was caught dumping untested water into the Prut River, exceeding permitted pollution levels. The company was billed 675 thousand hryvnias for this. Also, near the village of Prypruttia, three plots of land were discovered that had been turned into garbage dumps, for which the police are currently seeking the culprits (damages: about 870 thousand hryvnias).

The problem of illegal deforestation

In the Mykolaiv region, near the village of Petropavlivka, ash trees were cut down, causing damage totaling 822 thousand hryvnias.
In the Kirovohrad region, in the Ketrysanivska community, a man was illegally collecting firewood in a forest belt, for which he is now obliged to pay compensation of 652 thousand hryvnias.
Further actions

Environmental inspectors emphasize that administrative fines are only part of the punishment. The main task is to compensate for the damage. Most of the materials collected this week have already been turned over to law enforcement, so violators face not only financial but also criminal liability.
