У 2026 році в столичне метро можуть не пустити всіх: хто не зможе потрапити на станції Києва

In 2026, not everyone may be allowed into the capital’s metro: who will not be able to get to the Kiev stations

The metro in Kyiv is one of the most popular types of public transport, but not everyone has the opportunity to use it.

Since 2026, new rules for passengers have been introduced, which must be followed; otherwise, they may not be allowed to enter the station. The Kyiv Metro informs that travel is possible only with a valid electronic ticket registered in the automated fare accounting system (ASOP). Fare payment is required each time you pass through the turnstile, except for persons entitled to benefits.

Tickets with an expired validity date or issued to a person other than the owner do not give the right to free travel. Passage through the turnstile is allowed only after the ticket is correctly registered, as confirmed by a light and sound signal.

Who has the right to pass through the metro without a turnstile?

For some passenger categories, an alternative entrance is provided via checkpoints at stations. This applies to:

persons who use benefits;

parents with strollers;
children under 7 years old (including those in the arms of their parents);
people with visual impairments, in particular with guide dogs;
people with disabilities who move in wheelchairs, with the help of crutches or canes.
What luggage is prohibited from being transported in the metro

The metro rules detail which items may interfere with passage. It is prohibited to transport:

cages or containers with a sum of dimensions of more than 120 cm;
rolls with a diameter of more than 15 cm and a length of more than 170 cm;
animals and birds without special containers (except for guide dogs);
long objects (wood, garden equipment, fishing gear) longer than 220 cm;
cargo in which the sum of length, width, and height exceeds 200 cm;
explosive, flammable, toxic, narcotic, or corrosive substances, as well as gas and oxygen cylinders;
luggage on trolleys, except suitcases, wheeled bags, and trolley bags of permissible dimensions;
Items that are not fixed or may soil passengers, cause injuries, or damage metro equipment.
It is also noted that bicycles and sports equipment over 120 cm long may be transported only disassembled or in special covers.

A new tactile navigation system for people with visual impairments is being implemented in the Kyiv metro.
