The Ministry of Regional Development announced the main draft laws for 2026, relating to the modernization of motor vehicles and transportation safety

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine has identified priority draft laws in the field of road transport, scheduled for implementation in 2026. These initiatives aim to update sectoral legislation, improve transportation safety, and introduce modern digital tools that meet European standards. The Ministry will work on both existing documents and new initiatives.

Among the registered draft laws, changes in the field of transportation of dangerous goods, the creation of the National Bureau for the Investigation of Transport Accidents, and draft laws related to socially important transportation and reforming the system of preferential transportation are highlighted. It is also planned to strengthen the responsibility of foreign carriers for violations of cabotage rules and to improve the regulation of uncrewed aerial vehicles in civil aviation.

In 2026, the Ministry will focus on new initiatives, including legislative regulation of the e-Queue system for efficient border crossings, implementation of the electronic consignment note, reform of the taxi sector and technical control, and updating legislation on the transportation of perishable food products. These steps are aimed at ensuring transparency, safety, and reducing corruption risks in the transport sector.
