Dubil: the prosecution of Tymoshenko in the courts is distancing Ukraine from European values
Valery Dubil, deputy leader of the Batkivshchyna party, expressed concern about the recent court hearing in the Yulia Tymoshenko case. He noted that transforming political struggle into prosecutions distances Ukraine from European standards. Dubil also emphasized that the party team continues its work in the Verkhovna Rada and at the local level, protecting citizens’ rights.
“The real attempts at political pressure are those that turn the political struggle into court actions, which only distance us from the European values for which we are fighting,” Dubil wrote, commenting on the court session.
“We are again observing attempts to put pressure on Yulia Tymoshenko. This is another test for our stability, which we are already facing. I have known Yulia Volodymyrivna for many years. Neither courts nor pressure can break her, because her main support is millions of Ukrainians, whom she has protected throughout her life. When she defends small businesses, communities, and social justice, she does so sincerely. This is what hinders someone today”, – added the head of Kyiv “Batkivshchyna”.
Dubil noted that the “Motherland” team continues its activities in the Verkhovna Rada and on the ground, defending the interests of Ukrainians, despite political pressure.
“The protection of people’s rights remains our main priority. Attempts at political pressure, which turn into prosecutions, only distance us from the values for which we fight. However, I believe that reason must win. Justice exists, and we must fight for it!” – Valery Dubil concluded.
This month, on January 16, a court session was held in Kyiv, during which the issue of a preventive measure for People’s Deputy Yulia Tymoshenko was decided. The prosecutor reported that during searches of Tymoshenko’s waiting room, a monoblock containing an account named “Cashier” and Excel reports for 2022-2026 were seized.
