Oleksandr Shovkovskyi revealed to Szabo the details of the crisis at Dynamo after his resignation
Dynamo Kyiv has undergone significant changes this season, especially in the coaching positions. After a poor start to the season, Oleksandr Shovkovsky was replaced by Igor Kostyuk, and the team’s former coach József Szabo shared his impressions of these events.
In a conversation with representatives of the Meta.ua portal, Szabo said that he met with Shovkovsky after his dismissal. “I had to support him, because we live close to each other. He said that it was difficult for him now. I explained that this is the fate of a coach,” Szabo said.
He noted that for him, the current state of Dynamo has become the biggest disappointment of this season. At the same time, Szabo cautiously assessed the capabilities of the new coach, Igor Kostyuk, whom he had known since he played in the reserve team.
“Kostiuk showed good results at the U-19 level, but this is not yet enough to seriously evaluate his work with the main team,” he stressed.
According to Szabo, conclusions about Kostyuk’s work can be drawn after the championship resumes. In his opinion, five matches of the spring part of the season will be enough to understand in which direction the team is moving.
