Prices may increase by 40%: Ukrainians warned about sharp rise in prices of popular goods

In Ukraine, the price of household appliances and electronics may increase significantly in the coming months. Experts note that from March, certain categories of goods will begin to increase in price, and the renewal of warehouses may lead to even greater price jumps. In some cases, the price increase may be 30 to 40 percent, significantly affecting family finances.

The main reason for this increase is the global shortage of memory chips. Global technology companies are actively purchasing these components for the development of artificial intelligence and the operation of large data centers. Manufacturers of household appliances are facing a shortage of components, and their prices are constantly increasing. This is what will drive price increases.

At the moment, Ukrainian consumers do not feel the price change, since stores are selling off equipment purchased at old prices. However, the situation will change in the spring, when new products hit the market, leading to a gradual price increase.

Laptops, smartphones, tablets, desktops, and smartwatches are expected to see the biggest price increases, as their production relies heavily on scarce chips. The cost of smartphones and tablets is forecast to increase by about 15-20%, laptops by 20-30%, and TVs by 15-18% over the course of the year.

However, electronics prices in Ukraine are not only driven by global trends. Currency fluctuations, inflation, and high logistics costs also have a significant impact. As a result, consumers may find themselves paying several thousand hryvnias more for the same models that were recently more affordable.

Experts note that manufacturers are trying to keep prices down, sometimes by cutting back on features, but they are unable to offset the rise in component prices fully. Therefore, a gradual increase in the cost of electronics is considered inevitable, and consumers will notice the first changes in the near future.
