Голова Укрпошти охарактеризував українців, що отримують мінімальну зарплату, як "неадекватних

The head of Ukrposhta described Ukrainians who receive the minimum wage as “inadequate”

Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi sparked a heated discussion on social media after his harsh comments about people earning the minimum wage. He expressed his opinion on the social platform Threads.

In his post, Smilyanskyi noted that he does not understand how it is possible to work for the minimum wage when, in his opinion, there are many vacancies in Ukraine. He characterized this category of people as “sick in the head”.

“If you are a healthy man or woman and work for the minimum wage, then, sorry, you have serious problems, because there are millions of vacancies in Ukraine,” he said, responding to criticism of his income and claims of a lack of funds.

The director also spoke about the salaries of Ukrposhta employees. According to him, branch operators in large cities receive about 17 thousand hryvnias, and managers – about 21-22 thousand hryvnias. He explained the salary structure: 80% is a fixed salary, and 20% is a bonus. In the future, they plan to change these proportions to 70% of salary and 30% of bonus, so that employees with a higher workload have the opportunity to earn more.

In addition, Smilyansky stressed that when he took office, the average salary at Ukrposhta was only $52, hinting that the situation had improved since his appointment.

These statements caused discontent among social media users, who consider such statements offensive to those who, for various reasons, are forced to work for low wages. Other users called on Smilyansky to objectively assess the country’s economic situation.
