Ihor Tselyp: “Being near trees brings back memories of my childhood”

Ihor Tselyp, a Ukrainian singer, talks about his love for working on the land, which he developed in childhood. Unlike many of his peers who were fascinated by technology, he spent time in the garden, helping his parents with the trees and observing the natural changes.

In the press release, the artist notes that these simple activities held special meaning for him.

“I’ve always loved the land. It was interesting: planting trees, watering them, waiting for the first leaves. It’s really magical – you put in your care, and then you see the result,” he shares.

Tselip believes that working in the garden taught him patience and the ability to keep calm. He is convinced that these skills shape character in the same way as sports or creativity. Pruning branches, tying up young trees, and harvesting brought him special pleasure.

“I was never bored in nature. I could spend hours there. When you plant something, you believe in the future, and maybe this feeling stays with you forever,” the artist adds.

At the time, he did not understand how important these habits would become in his adult life. Despite the busy tour schedule, the singer tries to make time for nature, seeing it as a way to restore and return to his roots.

Today, Ihor Tselyp is known for his charity performances abroad and for performing famous songs that support Ukrainians. Behind the scenes, he remains a man who values not losing touch with the land and his history.

“It’s my way of resetting. When I’m around the trees, I go back to my childhood and remind myself of who I really am,” he says.

The singer believes that modern children are excessively immersed in screens, while nature can teach them responsibility, patience, and love of life. He believes that the love of the garden is also related to family values and a sense of home.

“A tree cannot grow without roots, just like a person. If you remember where you are from, it is difficult to break you,” the artist concludes.
