Scandal with tenders in Kyiv: the representative of “Kyivavtoshlyahmist” bought low-quality columns for 775 thousand
In Kyiv, a criminal case was opened against the acting head of the KP “Kyivavtoshlyakhmist” due to official negligence.
Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office submitted the indictment for consideration by the court.
According to the investigation materials, during the purchase of anti-parking posts, the official did not ensure proper oversight of compliance with the standards. These pillars are necessary to protect pedestrians and prevent cars from entering the sidewalks.
The law enforcement officers found that the ordered columns did not meet state standards. The height of such structures should range from 0.75 m to 1.10 m, but the purchased columns did not meet this requirement.
Despite this, the utility company paid for the purchase, resulting in a capital budget loss of about 775 thousand hryvnias.
The actions of the official are qualified under Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for responsibility for official negligence with grave consequences.
In addition, the prosecutor filed a civil lawsuit demanding recovery of damages from the accused.
The case is currently before the court. If proven guilty, the official faces criminal liability.
Also, in the Cherkasy region, a pre-trial investigation was completed into a group accused of defrauding military personnel of over 457,000 hryvnias. The indictment has already been sent to the court; among the accused is a person who, at the time of committing the crimes, was serving a sentence in an institution.
