The Ministry of Education and Science proposed that universities include registration for NMT in the “zero course” program to support applicants
A new stage has begun for future students in Ukraine: registration for the 2026 national multi-subject test. The Ministry of Education and Science emphasizes the need for universities to participate in this process actively.
Mykola Trofymenko, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, noted in his post on social networks that the initiative’s goal is to develop a support system for applicants to help them adapt to all aspects of the registration process. This is intended to make the process more understandable and convenient for applicants.
He emphasized the importance of integrating registration procedures into pre-university preparation programs, known as the “zero course”.
Universities are invited to help applicants not only with information but also with all aspects of the admissions campaign.
“I appeal to universities: make registration for the NMT part of the ‘zero course’ program and systematic work with future applicants,” Trofymenko added.
The initiative provides several measures that will facilitate this process for applicants:
consultations on creating personal accounts and avoiding typical mistakes;
assistance in completing documents and checking their correctness;
guidance in choosing the fourth subject of the NMT that corresponds to the future specialization;
informing parents and teachers about the features of admission.
Registration process
Official registration began on March 5, and the first successfully registered personal account was recorded 55 seconds after the system was launched. The entire procedure takes place online on the Ukrainian Center for Education Quality Assessment (UCEA) website.
The Ministry of Education and Science urges applicants to avoid haste and carefully check their personal data before completing registration. The main stage will run until April 2, inclusive, providing enough time to prepare for admission for those planning to take the NMT in Ukraine. However, those studying abroad are advised not to delay registration.
Recall that there was a recent report about the high cost of studying in some specialties, as well as the importance of knowing what to avoid when taking the NMT. Fears about high school reforms and rumors of extra years of studying without tutors were also discussed.
