Now available to everyone: supermarkets have changed prices on basic products

The Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market is witnessing changes in both demand and price. According to analysts, some popular vegetables have become cheaper over the past week, and the number of apple offers among fruits has increased. These processes are significantly different from last year’s situation.

According to information, the market leader in sales remains white cabbage, which accounts for about 6% of all sales announcements. The offer of this vegetable continues to grow. Interest in onions and carrots is also growing. The sowing campaign for early carrots has already begun in southern Ukraine, which is also affecting the market.

As of today, the number of potato sellers has decreased by about a third, while about half of the offers concern seed potatoes for the new season. Among seasonal vegetables, there has been an increase in offers for cucumbers and radishes, while Beijing cabbage and radish have become less available.

In the fruit segment, apples remain the undisputed leader; the number of ads for their sale continues to grow. Pear has returned to the list of popular fruits, while imports of grapes from Uzbekistan have decreased.

Analysts note significant changes in the market. Last year, onions were the best-selling product, but they were more expensive. Currently, buyers are most interested in potatoes, onions, and apples. At the same time, last year at this time, the popular products were beets and onions, and the first offers of tomatoes from Egypt had appeared.

Over the past week, Ukraine has seen a decrease in prices for most vegetables, particularly white cabbage, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, Chinese cabbage, and garlic. Among the greens, lettuce has continued to get cheaper, while green onions and dill have become more expensive.

On the fruit market, citrus fruits and persimmons have become cheaper, while avocados and pomegranates have risen in price over the past week. Overall, products in Ukraine remain among the most expensive in the world, which is causing concern among consumers.
