Five military personnel suspected of trafficking weapons from the combat zone
Law enforcement officers of the Odessa region have uncovered a network of illegal arms supply organized by five servicemen.
According to the investigation, the perpetrators were taking weapons out of the combat zone and selling weapons intended for defense needs.
The seized arsenal included anti-tank grenade launchers, rocket-propelled grenades and assault grenades, as well as automatic weapons, ammunition and fragmentation rounds. Some of the weapons were sent by mail, and large batches were delivered directly. The weapons were stored in a cache on the territory of one of the maintenance stations.
Law enforcement officers documented the sale of weapons worth over 1.5 million hryvnias. In March 2026, the arrest took place immediately after the transfer of funds for the supply to Odessa.
The court chose a preventive measure for the suspects in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail. Procedural actions are controlled by the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region.
