Ukrainian troops killed or wounded over 6,000 enemies as a result of massive attacks

On March 19, Russian troops launched a serious attack in the Lymansko-Boriv direction, trying to break through the Ukrainian defenses. The enemy concentrated on seven key areas, involving more than 500 soldiers, 28 armored vehicles and more than 100 units of motor vehicles, including buggies and quadricycles.

However, as reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky, within four hours the Ukrainian military repelled the attack and inflicted significant losses on the aggressor. According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians lost 3 tanks, 11 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, 84 units of motor vehicles, and the Sontsepok TOC and 5 artillery guns were hit, and more than 160 drones were destroyed.

Unprecedented Intensity of Attacks

Over four days, from March 17 to 20, the enemy carried out 619 assaults against Ukrainian positions. The largest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsky (163 times) and Oleksandrivsky (96 times) directions.

The situation in the Konstantinivsky direction also remained tense, where 84 assault attacks took place, and up to 150 combat clashes were recorded in the Ocheretinsky, Lymansky and Kupyansky directions.

Despite massive pressure and the involvement of reserves, the Russian command was again unable to implement its plans. The enemy is forced to re-equip its forces and prepare for new attacks, hoping for worsening weather conditions, which may reduce the effectiveness of Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance and drones.

Losses of Russian troops

During four days of active fighting, the enemy lost more than 6,090 servicemen killed and wounded, and in a week these figures reached approximately 8,710 people.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine also inflicted significant losses on enemy equipment and weapons. At the time of the armed clashes, Ukrainian units were ready for attacks, having received reinforcements, ammunition and equipment for effective defense.

Actions of the Ukrainian military

The success in repelling massive attacks was made possible thanks to the high professionalism and resilience of the Ukrainian military. In some areas, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to take the initiative into their own hands, applying the tactics of active defense.

The command expressed gratitude to the 82nd and 95th separate airborne assault brigades, as well as many other units that are actively defending the country.

It is known that the Airborne Assault Forces are conducting counteroffensive operations in the Oleksandrivka direction.
