Suspect in Stolichny land schemes had financial ties to Russia and Russian citizenship
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has appealed to President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Security Service of Ukraine with a proposal to impose sanctions on one of the suspects in the case related to violations at the Kiev market “Stolichny”. This is a former MP who represented the banned Party of Regions.
The investigation revealed that the suspect has stable financial ties with the aggressor country. In particular, companies associated with him continued their activities in the temporarily occupied territories and in Russia, paying taxes to the Russian budget.
In addition, the NABU noted that the suspect uses a Russian passport and has contacts with persons involved in financing armed formations and occupation administrations.
As part of the criminal proceedings, transactions related to nine land plots on the territory of the “Stolichny” market are being investigated. In particular, he is accused of organizing the legalization of assets obtained through criminal means.
According to law enforcement agencies, this case concerns Yuriy Ivanyushchenko. At the same time, investigative actions are also taking place in the judicial system, in particular, searches are reported in the Kyiv Court of Appeal, in particular at the office of judge Volodymyr Melnyk.
As journalists report, these actions may be related to decisions to lift arrests from Ivanyushchenko’s accounts in Switzerland, where the amount involved is over 70 million euros.
Yuriy Ivanyushchenko left Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity. Previously, he was suspected of embezzling budget resources on a particularly large scale and participating in the raider seizure of the Odessa market “Seventh Kilometer”.
In 2019, he was removed from the wanted list, but later this decision was canceled, and law enforcement officers announced a second search.
Information about searches conducted in the Kyiv Court of Appeal among judges and representatives of the prosecutor’s office indicates the activity of the NABU and the SAPO in investigating the case of the former deputy from the Party of Regions.
Yuriy Ivanyushchenko’s son, Arsen, in 2022 purchased luxury apartments in the center of Dubai in the prestigious residential complex The Residence, located near the Burj Khalifa skyscraper. Meanwhile, the ex-deputy himself continues to visit the United Arab Emirates, leaving the territory of Russia.
