Кваліфікаційна комісія НБУ визнала CFO Ощадбанку, що повідомив про корупцію в установі, непрофесійним – Береза

The NBU Qualification Commission recognized the CFO of Oschadbank, who reported corruption in the institution, as unprofessional – Bereza

The Qualification Commission of the National Bank of Ukraine has decided to declare the financial director of Oschadbank, Oleg Strynzhi, professionally unfit. This happened after he banned the participation in tenders of a company that has relations with a sanctioned Russian businessman and informed the Supervisory Board about it.

Former People’s Deputy Boryslav Bereza called this decision absurd, emphasizing that Strynzhi has significant professional experience, including work in such well-known financial institutions as Société Générale, ING Bank, Eurobank EFG and Pekao.

Bereza also noted that the real reason for the disqualification may be revenge by the head of the NBU, Andriy Pyshny. The conflict arose after Strynzhi did not allow a company whose beneficiary is Russian businessman Yuriy Shumilin to participate in the tender. Shumilin is under strict US and EU sanctions due to his ties to a Russian holding company that supplies components to the Russian army.

According to Bereza, Strynja appealed to the Supervisory Board, informing foreign members about the pressure from the NBU leadership.

According to the blogger, Strynja’s removal from office is part of a larger pressure. Currently, a criminal case has been opened against him, which was initiated by Dmytro Oliynyk, who is close to Pyshny. Bereza pointed to Oliynyk’s connections with the head of the NBU’s security department, which emphasizes the political motivation of the actions against Strynja.

Additionally, Bereza revealed that Russian business continues to operate in Ukraine during the war through two companies with almost identical names. One of them was created after the start of the full-scale invasion in order to mask its activities, while retaining the same management, KVEDs and addresses. These companies supply equipment to Ukrainian state-owned enterprises and military units, which may indicate support for their actions at the state level.
