The Rada plans to introduce severe penalties for employees of the CCC and VLK: what initiatives do the deputies propose?
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered draft law No. 12543, which aims to increase the liability of members of military medical commissions (MMCs) and employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) for intentional violations during mobilization procedures.
According to this initiative, members of the MMC who knowingly violate the rules may face imprisonment for a term of 3 to 8 years. An additional penalty is also provided: a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in professional activities for a period of 1 to 3 years.
Similar sanctions, from 3 to 8 years of imprisonment, may also be applied to officials of the TCC and SP if they mobilize citizens who are not subject to conscription by law.
In addition, the draft law provides for a change in the status of MMC members – they can be equated with civil servants. This will allow them to be held accountable for corruption and illicit enrichment. In case of detection of property of undetermined origin, a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years is provided.
The authors of the initiative, including MPs Dmytro Razumkov, Oksana Dmytrieva, Heorhiy Mazurash, Alina Zagoruyko and Dmytro Mykysha, have already submitted the document for consideration by the relevant parliamentary committees.
