CCC can deny a postponement even for the slightest mistake

In Ukraine, any mistake in documents can be critical when applying for a deferment from mobilization. Lawyers emphasize that even one incorrect letter can significantly change the legal status of family relationships and affect the decision-making of territorial recruitment centers.

Applying for a deferment involves submitting documents through administrative service centers (CSCs), but the final decision is made by territorial recruitment centers (TCCs). Inaccuracies in documents can significantly affect the results.

According to lawyers, the difference in the spelling of relatives’ names or patronymics can formally make it impossible to confirm their family relationship. This means that people who are actually relatives may not legally have such status.

For example, a man sought advice on applying for a deferment to care for his mother. It turned out that there was a discrepancy in the spelling of patronymics in the documents of his brothers and sisters – there was no soft sign. Because of this, their relationship is not legally confirmed.

According to lawyer Vladislav Derii, in this situation, the man has the right to a deferral, since other relatives who could provide care are not legally registered. However, the CCC can contact state registers to confirm actual family ties.

In such a situation, the documents may be returned for revision or the deferral may be denied due to correction of errors. Experts recommend carefully checking all documents before submitting.

Lawyers advise correcting errors through the civil registry offices to avoid legal difficulties and speed up the process of obtaining a deferral. Even minor errors in documents can lead to serious consequences, so they should be eliminated in advance.

Ukraine also plans to implement a large-scale mobilization reform, which involves removing about 2 million people from the wanted list and introducing new control and restriction mechanisms.
