A new maximum at gas stations: Ukrainians expect UAH 100 per liter

The fuel market of Ukraine is again under the threat of a significant increase in prices. The cost of diesel fuel can reach 100 hryvnias per liter, and this is already a well-founded assumption, according to Sergey Kuyun, head of the A-95 consulting group.

The expert noted that global trends in the fuel market cause alarm. The price of gas oil on the ICE exchange has already exceeded $1,500 per ton, and in some European regions it has exceeded $1,600. Such prices are historical records, reminiscent of the situation during the oil crisis of the 1970s.

These global changes directly affect Ukraine, because most of the fuel is imported. Therefore, any increase in prices on the world market immediately affects domestic indicators. According to experts, the cost of diesel fuel at the border is already approaching 95 hryvnias per liter.

This price is not yet final, as additional costs for logistics, taxes and gas station network mark-ups must be taken into account. So, the prospect of 100 hryvnias per liter becomes a reality, and not just a psychological limit.

However, there is also positive news: despite all the rapid growth in prices, a shortage of fuel in Ukraine is not expected. Stocks are available, supply contracts are in place, and gas stations are operating as usual.
