Creation of supervisory councils as a guarantee of European integration – results of the meeting of the community at HOVA
On April 15, another meeting of the public council of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (KHOVA) was held, which was attended by Serhiy Usov, head of the Kharkiv regional branch of the NGO Stop Corruption. The main focus of the meeting was on the importance of open dialogue between the authorities and society in the context of European integration and international support.
The meeting was organized to discuss issues of transparency and accountability in the conditions of the war in Ukraine. “Today, we focus on the rational use of resources in the region. Public councils play an important role in the dialogue between society and the government. Our task is to ensure their openness and efficiency,” said Serhii Usov.
The meeting was attended by representatives of structural subdivisions of HOVA, public and veteran organizations, as well as members of anti-corruption initiatives. People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Movchan was among those present.
The key issue of the meeting was the creation of supervisory boards at communal institutions of the region. The participants emphasized that such councils can become an effective tool for increasing the transparency of management, attracting investments and optimizing the use of resources in wartime. “This is an important step for strengthening the stability of Ukraine and its defense capability,” Usov added.
During the discussion, emphasis was placed on the need to include independent experts, in particular veterans, in the composition of supervisory boards. “Veterans who defended our country must take part in its restoration and development,” Usov emphasized.
The creation of working groups in partnership with international organizations such as UNDP to jointly plan and monitor strategic recovery projects was also discussed. Currently, working groups are already functioning or are at the stage of creation in several communities, including Balakliysk, Lozivsk and Chuguyivsk.
As a result of the meeting, an initiative group was formed for further information on the creation of supervisory councils, which are important for strengthening international support and European integration processes in Ukraine. Serhiy Usov emphasized that the formation of such councils meets the requirements of international partners and will contribute to building trust between Ukraine and international organizations.
