In a school in Transcarpathia, a student shot his classmate with a pistol

This morning, at 09:30, an incident occurred in one of the educational institutions of the Uzhhorod district, when a ninth-grade student made threats to other participants in the educational process.

According to preliminary data, during the lesson, the teenager took out a pistol and fired two shots. The relevant information was provided by representatives of the Zakarpattia region police.

One of the shots hit a classmate, causing him injury. After that, the young man left the school and fled in an unknown direction.

Law enforcement officers quickly responded to the statement – patrol police officers found and detained the suspect. Specialists from the investigative groups and juvenile police are working at the scene.

The victim was examined by doctors, who reported that his life and health are not in danger. The weapon used by the boy has been seized – according to preliminary data, it is a traumatic pistol.

An investigation is currently underway to determine all the circumstances of the incident. In particular, the police are clarifying how the weapon got to the minor, and are also determining the legal qualification of the situation.

Meanwhile, in the Turkish city of Siverek (Sanliurfa province), a similar shooting occurred at a high school, where at least 14-18 people were injured. According to various local and international media reports, the attacker was an 18-year-old boy.

Initially, at least 7 victims were reported, but later the number of victims increased to 16, and some sources indicate 18 victims, including both students and teachers.

During the shooting, some schoolchildren tried to escape by jumping out of windows, and most of the students were evacuated by security forces.
