A new fraudulent call center was discovered in Kyiv: details of the scam on Zhylyanska

In Kyiv, human rights activists from the StopKor organization discovered a new alleged fraudulent call center at 29 Zhylianska Street. This is not the first case of such activity in this area; similar incidents were previously recorded in a neighboring building.

StopKor representatives confirmed that the suspicious office was operating at 29 Zhylianska Street. After recording the facts at the scene, law enforcement officers were called to investigate.

Previously, journalists had already discovered the activity of a call center at 31 Zhylianska Street, in an area that is an important business and cultural center of the capital. According to preliminary data, the fraudsters could have rented an office on the sixth floor.

It is also known that at 31 Zhylianska Street there is a business center called Capital Hall, which offers office space for rent. This location has convenient access to the Olimpiyska and Palats Sportu metro stations, and the rental price starts at approximately 700 hryvnias per square meter.

There is currently no confirmed information that the fraudulent call center was operating directly in the premises of Capital Hall or nearby. However, journalists noticed a group of young people who could probably be employees of a fake investment company.

It has been previously established that the employees did not use real names, but invented call signs. One of them had the call sign “Hispanic” and, according to investigators, could coordinate the activities of other members of the group. Although there is no photo of this person yet, it is assumed that he may have been captured on the journalists’ video.

StopKor representatives emphasize that fraudulent call centers regularly come into the field of view of their investigations, which indicates a systemic problem in this area.

It is also worth noting that on Thursday, April 9, StopKor reported the exposure of a suspected fraudulent call center at 15 Leiptsyzka Street. Journalists were able to enter the premises, but access to the call center office was limited – the doors were closed. They only recorded the reception and administrators who were on site.
