On April 13, as a result of a Russian missile attack, an actress from the Sumy National Shchepkin Theater tragically died. The theater staff expressed deep sadness, noting that this loss cannot be described in words.
The theater’s statement reads: “Unfortunately, we have lost our colleague, actress Olena Kohut. She was a frank and bright person, and her smile and kindness will remain in our hearts forever.”

Olena Kohut was not only a theater artist but also a soloist-organist of the Sumy Regional Philharmonic and a teacher at the Sumy Professional College of Arts and Culture, where she left a mark on the hearts of her students.
According to the prosecutor’s office, on April 13, 34 people were killed in the shelling in Sumy. Olena was among them, and her music and soulfulness will remain in the memory of many people.
