Штрафи до 153 000 грн і можливість тюрми: чому весняне прибирання може завдати шкоди вашому бюджету

Fines of up to UAH 153,000 and the possibility of prison: why spring cleaning can harm your budget

As spring approaches, Ukrainians enjoy the warm weather that brings sunny days and snow-free landscapes. In this regard, landowners are cleaning up their yards and plots.

However, this activity can be dangerous and costly. Zakarpattioblenergo warned about this.

Landowners often burn the remains of dry vegetation, leading to uncontrolled fires.

“Burning dry grass and bushes and arranging garbage dumps near power lines and transformers is strictly prohibited,” the regional energy authority noted.

In a fire, the guilty parties will be held responsible and have to compensate for the damage caused.

In Ukraine, hefty fines are possible for violations, including burning dry grass and bushes. The amount of the fine is determined depending on the place of commission of the offense and its consequences. In some cases, violators may receive restrictions of liberty.

Damage to forests or green spaces around settlements, railways, and agricultural lands entails:

  • a fine of 5,400 to 9,000 tax-free minimum income (91,800 to 153,000 UAH);
  • restriction or imprisonment for a term of two to five years;
    Fines for burning in settlements may be:
  • for individuals: 180-360 tax-free minimum incomes (3,060-6,120 UAH);
  • for officials: 900-1,260 tax-free minimum incomes (15,300-21,420 UAH).
    Remain careful, follow the law, and take care of the safety of your surroundings.
