Pensioners in 9 regions will receive the assistance of UAH 3,000: who is entitled to payment
Important information for those who receive pension payments in Ukraine: a new financial assistance program for pensioners will begin in 2025, initiated by the Ministry of Social Policy in cooperation with the UN.
This financial support will be part of humanitarian assistance aimed at the most vulnerable categories of the population.
Information from the Pension Fund of Ukraine confirms this information.
Who is the assistance intended for
Of the more than 10 million pensioners in Ukraine, assistance will be available only to those who meet specific criteria:
Living in combat zones;
Receiving a pension of less than 3,250 hryvnias per month;
Not receiving cash payments from international organizations since March 1, 2023.
Residents of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions can count on assistance.
Payments will only be provided if the person meets all the specified criteria. Failure to fulfill at least one of them deprives the recipient of the opportunity to receive assistance.
In addition, in 2025, persons with disabilities (since childhood) and children with disabilities will be added to the recipients.
Amount of financial assistance
The amount of assistance from the UN will be determined as the difference between the actual pension and 3,250 hryvnias. For example, if the pension is 3,100 hryvnias, the aid will be 150.
The payment can be received by crediting a bank account or through Ukrposhta. This program is valid until mid-2025.
Do I need to apply
Representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy noted that persons eligible for assistance do not need to apply to complete an application:
“No action is required to receive assistance. Payments will be made automatically based on data from state registers.”
Pensioners were also warned about the importance of meeting certain conditions for stable receipt of a pension.
