Enemy agent detained in Mykolaiv: he was passing on data about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and had ammunition with him
A man was detained in Mykolaiv who was providing the Russian military with coordinates of the positions of Ukrainian forces. During a search, live ammunition was found on him, for which he faces up to 12 years in prison.
A 50-year-old resident of Mykolaiv is suspected of collaborating with Russian special services and illegally storing ammunition. According to the investigation, starting in August 2023, he collected and transmitted data on the location of Ukrainian military personnel in the region to the enemy.
The man used the Telegram messenger to send the exact coordinates of the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Mykolaiv region. This information was used to plan artillery and air strikes on Ukrainian troops’ fortifications.
During his detention, a mobile phone was seized from him, with which he communicated with representatives of the Russian Federation, as well as more than 30 cartridges of various calibers, for which he did not have permission to store them.
The detention took place as part of criminal proceedings. The court ruled to keep the suspect in custody without the right to bail. The pre-trial investigation continues, conducted by the SBU Department in the Mykolaiv region.
