Замість травневого тепла - арктичні холоди: синоптики вразили прогнозом на місяць

Instead of May warmth, Arctic cold: weather forecasters surprised with monthly forecast

The end of spring in Ukraine: cooling and frosts

May usually brings warmth and the exuberance of nature, but this year, the weather in Ukraine has prepared a pleasant surprise.

Ukraine is expected to experience a sharp cooling at the beginning of this month, as cold Arctic air will cover the country. Forecasters warn that in some regions, the temperature may drop below zero. From May 2 to 4, frosts are possible, mainly affecting summer residents and farmers.

Meteorologist Nataliya Golenya reassured, noting that such temperature fluctuations in May are a natural part of the transition between the spring and summer seasons. Night frosts can occur even after a warm spring.

In turn, people’s forecaster Volodymyr Derkach once again confirmed that the first decade of May will be incredible and unpredictable. The severe cold should be removed only after May 10–12. However, even then, the weather does not promise stability: short-term showers, strong winds, and hail are possible.

The air temperature will rise in the second half of May, and precipitation will decrease. However, as experts note, it is too early to expect real summer heat because the average daily temperature will only begin to exceed +15 degrees, which is the minimum for the beginning of summer.

Closer to the third decade of May, we should again expect changes in the weather: the temperature may decrease, the winds will intensify, and the air humidity will increase. Only at the end of the month is more stable weather expected, and Ukraine will be able to enjoy comfortable warmth, albeit without hot summer days.
