Gas tariffs in June: what payments can you expect
Gas prices for Ukrainians will remain unchanged, but questions arise about summer and winter tariffs.
Naftogaz of Ukraine has confirmed the extension of the Fixed tariff plan until April 30, 2026. This plan allows household customers to purchase gas at a price of UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. Thanks to the current moratorium on tariff increases, this price will remain stable for all household consumers.
Naftogaz manages 12.5 million households in Ukraine, and the company assures that the price offered will allow the situation to remain stable even under challenging conditions.
Despite the fixed price, consumers can still expect risks. Naftogaz representatives noted that in extreme winter situations, restrictions on gas consumption may be introduced, which may lead to a temporary cessation of gas supply to homes.
Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz, Natalia Boyko, emphasized that the consumption restriction is planned as a last resort, and the company is doing everything possible to avoid this scenario. She also noted that restoring gas supply may be much more difficult than electricity, and Naftogaz is working to ensure stability through reserves and imports.
“We have considered many scenarios, some of which include tough measures, including consumption restrictions. However, I hope it will not come to this,” Boyko said.
It should not be forgotten that the complications in the energy market are most likely related to Russia’s aggressive actions, which have been waging a war against Ukraine since 2014. This situation forces Ukraine to spend huge resources on protecting and supporting internal infrastructure rather than on development.
It was previously reported that utility tariffs may increase, as a result of which Ukrainians express dissatisfaction with the deterioration in the quality of service provision at unchanged tariffs.
It should be noted that Naftogaz has already adopted the gas price for the next heating season.
