Support for families of fallen soldiers: who will receive what assistance in 2025

In 2025, the families of deceased Ukrainian heroes can receive one-time financial assistance of 50 subsistence minimums.

This amount will be 151,400 hryvnias and paid through the Pension Fund of Ukraine. According to information released by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, this payment can be claimed by persons awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and their relatives in the event of the hero’s death. The family includes a wife or husband, children, and parents.

To receive the payment, you must apply to the Pension Fund. You can do this in person or through an electronic portal. The application must include copies of the passport, identification code, death certificate of the main hero, a document on the assignment of the title, and other documents confirming family ties. If the applicant is a minor child, the documents are submitted by his legal representative.

The funds are distributed equally between family members if the deceased hero did not receive a lifetime payment. Financial assistance will be transferred to the bank accounts specified in the applications.

This initiative is an expression of the state’s gratitude for the heroism and self-sacrifice demonstrated by the Ukrainian defenders. The memory of the Heroes should be immortalized not only in the hearts but also in the actions of the state.
