The former head of the Kharkiv CCC faces confiscation of a fleet worth almost 5 million
The State Bureau of Investigation and the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption have revealed the facts of Artem Trebesov’s unjustified enrichment as the former head of the Kharkiv Regional CCC.
The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court for civil confiscation of assets totaling UAH 4.85 million. The lawsuit covers two cars: a BMW X6 (2023) and a Toyota Camry Hybrid (2022), which were purchased in 2023–2024 and belonged to the official’s family. When purchasing the cars, Trebesov held the position of head of the district CCC and performed the duties of head of the regional CCC.
The investigation indicates that Trebesov’s and his family’s official income did not correspond to the expenses for purchasing such expensive cars. Analysis of financial information showed discrepancies between the declared income and the value of the assets.
The court arrested the relevant movable and immovable property to prevent the removal of suspicious assets. The prosecutor’s office also filed a motion to arrest all property belonging to the defendants in the case and initiated measures to remove the chief state bailiff of the Obolon district bailiff service from his position.
Anti-corruption organizations have already drawn attention to possible abuses in the Kharkiv OTCK and the joint venture led by Trebesov, including alleged schemes to evade mobilization and abuse of power.
In addition, an investigation is ongoing against the former head of the Lozovo RTKK, Artur Vorontsov, who is accused of making death threats to lawyer and activist Zoryana Obora. The prosecutor’s office has also filed a lawsuit to confiscate two luxury cars used by Vorontsov.
In other news regarding Vorontsov, possible abuses related to his circle have also been noted. Law enforcement officers are urging anyone with information about the illegal actions of the officials above to seek help.
