Pensions for retirees will be reduced by 20%, which will lead to a decrease in food costs
In Ukraine, some elderly people may lose part of their pension benefits. This can happen in cases where pensioners do not notify the Pension Fund in a timely manner about their employment, dismissal, or the start or termination of entrepreneurial activity.
A change in employment status affects the amount of pension. For example, pensioners who are not working are entitled to additional payments that are not available to those who continue to work. If it turns out that a pensioner received these additional payments illegally through joint employment, the Pension Fund may withhold up to 20% of the pension until the debt for “excess” payments is repaid.
To avoid possible problems, pensioners are strongly encouraged to promptly inform the Pension Fund about changes in their status. This can be done both in person and through the PFU online services.
It should be noted that timely notification of employment can prevent financial losses and ensure the stability of pension payments.
