Nuclear war or peace: expert makes statement about the fate of the world by May 10
This became known during the “Different People” program hosted by Valery Savchuk.
Expert Oleg Starikov believes that Donald Trump is able to bring together Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. He notes that he is not a supporter of long political debates but considers it important to achieve specific results, which Trump is focused on.
Starikov pointed out that if Russia continues to insist on unrealistic conditions that do not suit Ukraine, the negotiations may collapse, leading to World War III. He also recalled the deadline set by Trump for peace negotiations – April 30, with the possibility of extension to May 10, during which a solution to the war and peace should be found.
The expert warned that the war may go beyond Ukraine if diplomacy is unsuccessful, affecting Europe. In this case, strikes on Romania, Poland, and other critical logistical points are possible, which will force the US to become more actively involved in the conflict, including the use of its military forces. Starikov also added that the threat of using tactical nuclear weapons remains relevant, but, according to military laws, this type of weapon is unlikely to be used on the territory of Ukraine. Strategic nuclear weapons, he noted, are designed to strike the territory of the United States, while tactical nuclear munitions are used in Europe.
Starikov also discussed changes to international borders, pointing out the importance of avoiding such actions.
