The State Environmental Inspectorate in the Pylyavsky Forestry Department found significant violations during sanitary felling: the perpetrators have already been punished
During the inspection, it was discovered that trees had fallen without proper procedures, and young forest stands were also affected. The following lines provide more details.
Start of the inspection: detection of violations
The inspectors conducted scheduled environmental protection inspections and discovered numerous violations during selective sanitary felling in the Pylyavsky forestry.
“In our inspections, we found that there were no freight bills for moving the wood from the warehouse, which means that the forest products were transported without appropriate documents,” the State Environmental Inspectorate reported.
Numerous violations
In addition to the lack of necessary documents, part of the harvested wood was not adequately accounted for, which clearly violates the rules for harvesting timber.
The inspectors also recorded damage to nature in the form of damage to young forest crops, which are only 5 years old, on an area of over 28 square meters.
Measures taken
According to the results of the inspection:
Two administrative reports were drawn up under Article 64 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (violating the rules for using forest resources).
One report was drawn up under Article 65 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (damage to forest plantations).
The violators were brought to administrative responsibility.
The damage caused to young trees was also assessed in accordance with the state standards established.
Violating the rules for felling forests should not be considered a simple technical failure, as it causes real harm to nature. Supervisory authorities should identify such cases and seek fair punishment for the perpetrators. This case is another step in the right direction.
