The State Emergency Service receives modern unmanned systems for demining with the support of the French government
France will transfer six modern, unmanned ROCUS demining systems to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels confirmed.
The ROCUS complexes are a development based on the Themis platform, which was created by the Estonian company Milrem Robotics. The French government will finance the supply of these systems.
ROCUS is designed for remote detection, identification, and neutralization of explosive objects, which allows sappers to avoid risks during territory demining.
Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Veersi noted: “We are proud to be able to support Ukraine through a contract with CNIM Systèmes Industriels. The MIS platforms have already shown their effectiveness in combat conditions.”
This delivery is the second batch of such systems for Ukraine—seven ROCUS platforms were transferred earlier in 2022, and Ukraine will receive 15 such machines in total.
The MIS is the most widely deployed unmanned ground vehicle in its class, currently in service in 19 countries worldwide.
In addition, during the latest Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels, Lithuania announced the allocation of 30 million euros to support Ukraine. Part of these funds will be channeled through the Lithuanian demining coalition. The partners have pledged 21 billion euros in military assistance to Ukraine.
