War fatigue: Russians begin sabotage at Russian defense plants

Two people suspected of attempting to sabotage a defense industrial complex near the capital have been detained in Russia. The press service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported this.

According to the exceptional service, the detainees allegedly established contact with a Ukrainian organization, which is considered banned in Russia, via the Telegram messenger.

Both men got a job at a defense plant, after which they assembled improvised explosive devices that they planned to smuggle into the territory of the enterprise. The detention occurred during an attempt to smuggle explosives into the facility.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainees under the article on state treason.

This incident marks a new trend: even Russian citizens are willing to take action against their defense infrastructure, creating new challenges for the country’s internal security.

It is also worth noting that explosions were heard in Cheboksary on the night of June 9. Officials report a drone attack and a fire at the enterprise. The head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolayev, confirmed that two drones allegedly fell on the territory of the VNIIR, which led to a decision to suspend production to ensure the safety of employees temporarily. “All services are working in an intensified mode; we are monitoring the situation,” Nikolayev said.
