Counter-Strike 2 has a major update

Valve has announced a major update for its popular shooter Counter-Strike 2, which brings significant changes to various aspects of the game, from visual effects to weapon mechanics and maps. Details can be found on the game’s official Steam page.

One of the most notable new features is a complete overhaul of first-person animations. Players will notice improved animations when shooting, reloading, drawing weapons, and inspecting. This was achieved thanks to the transition to the new AnimGraph2 animation engine, which required significant rework of existing models and effects.

Particular changes affected the game mechanics. Improvements to the damage calculation system when shooting on the move made it more accurate and realistic. Additionally, shotguns received new parameters: if the player interrupts reloading, it no longer resumes automatically. The sounds of reloading and drawing weapons have also become more expressive and diverse.

In addition, the Overpass, Train, and Inferno maps have undergone significant changes. These locations have been significantly redesigned: new shelters have appeared, unnecessary obstacles have been removed, and textures have been updated. Such improvements can dramatically affect the tactical strategies of players and change traditional battle scenarios.

Earlier, a major update of the game Civilization VII also took place. Meanwhile, images of the new portable retro console without joysticks, XU20 V32, appeared on the network. And PlayStation announced Titanic Escape Simulator – a historically accurate survival simulator on board the Titanic.
