Audits and account freezing: Ukrainians threatened for transfers

If such transfers occur frequently and the recipient does not declare their income, there is a risk that these funds will be considered as undeclared income. In this case, tax authorities may require supporting documents to demonstrate the purpose of the transfer.

In the event of suspicion of illegal financial activities, such as money laundering, access to accounts may be blocked for up to 72 hours, and in some cases for up to 3 months. This applies to both bank accounts and electronic wallets.

To avoid such problems, follow simple recommendations. Clearly specifying the purpose of the payment will help reduce risks. If you plan to transfer a considerable amount to a family member, you should notify the tax authorities in advance, following the appropriate procedures. Experts also advise avoiding a large number of small transactions per recipient and instead applying for a single large transfer with a specific purpose.

Particular attention should be paid to international transfers. It is essential to keep all documents confirming the origin of funds and the purpose of the transactions. Transparency of operations and detailed descriptions of transactions are key to avoiding lengthy checks and potential blocking.
