From January 1, Ukrainians should expect an increase in water tariffs

From January 1, 2026, an increase in tariffs for centralized water supply will apply to residents of Slavuta in the Khmelnytskyi region.

At a meeting of the executive committee, a decision was made to increase tariffs by 11% for water supply and drainage. This forced decision is driven by a significant increase in the cost of energy carriers, particularly electricity, which is a key cost component for the water utility. Since the last tariff adjustment in September 2023, electricity prices have increased, forcing the water utility to propose a price increase to cover rising costs.

It should be noted that the government has given electricity suppliers the right to disconnect enterprises with debts, further complicating the situation.

Representatives of the municipal water supply company note that each month they spend more than 1.5 million hryvnias on electricity, which creates an additional financial burden. Despite the measures taken to reduce electricity consumption, the situation remains difficult.
