The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained the reasons for the failure of mobilization in Ukraine: the goal should not only be to recruit people

The Ukrainian Defense Forces should focus not only on mobilization but also on the effective distribution of resources, particularly personnel who have joined the army. Although replenishing the ranks of the military is essential, the need for competent personnel use across all fronts is even greater, enabling greater efficiency and reduced losses. Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Maksym Zhorin, deputy commander of the 3rd Army Corps, told this in an interview for Radio NV.

He noted that one of the key tasks is not only to increase the number of the army, but also to ensure the safety of recruits. “We must remember that our goal is not only to replenish the military ranks, but also to protect the life and health of each serviceman. Preserving their lives should be our priority, and not reporting on the fulfillment of the assigned tasks,” the lieutenant colonel emphasized. He noted that it is essential to approach these issues with humanity and care.

In his opinion, there is a problem with information support for mobilized people. Many of the military personnel who enter the SZCh lack practical experience serving in combat units, leading to an underestimation of the importance of proper training.

“First of all, measures must be taken to reduce losses among those mobilized and provide them with high-quality training for real combat service. It is also important that recruits enter units where they can trust their commanders and where drones are used to replace personnel,” Zhorin added.

He also noted that practical work with military personnel should include not only combat training but also improving the moral and psychological climate within units, which fosters trust between soldiers and commanders, thereby enhancing their coordination and effectiveness on the front line.
