A full tank of fuel may result in refusal of entry to Poland – details

A new problem has arisen at the border crossings with Poland, which may affect many drivers. Now those with a fully filled fuel tank are starting to be turned away, especially if they cross the border more than once every three days.

A full tank is not always an advantage

A situation that previously seemed familiar can now cause serious delays. Drivers traveling to Poland, including airports, are facing new restrictions at the border. This was reported in a post by Aves Travel on the social network Threads.

According to eyewitnesses, if a person crosses the border more than once in 72 hours and has a fully filled tank, this may be perceived as an attempt to import fuel not for personal use. In such cases, border guards offer two options: pay additional excise duty or reduce the amount of fuel in the tank.

In case of evasion of these requirements, the car may be turned away. The driver loses his turn and is forced to go through the border conversion procedure again.

Ways to “solve” the problem

Drivers find various ways to get around this problem. Border guards near the border, at local gas stations, are offered to reduce the amount of fuel – in fact, drain some of the gasoline to meet the requirements.

After that, people return to the queue to cross the border. Such cases, according to drivers, are becoming common, especially among those who often travel abroad.

Drivers’ opinions

Users are actively sharing their experiences on social networks. Many confirm that they have encountered similar situations – they were either forced to drain fuel or turn back.

Some drivers have already adapted to the new conditions: they leave with a minimum amount of fuel to avoid problems at the border. Some of them plan to refuel directly in Poland.

At the same time, others note that this approach has its risks. Driving with an almost empty tank can lead to the driver not reaching the nearest gas station after crossing the border.

Traveling abroad through Poland requires appropriate preparation. Having the necessary documents and meeting the established requirements can greatly facilitate the entire procedure. It is recommended to check all the details in advance.

The main requirement for travel is a valid biometric passport. It is important that the document is valid, as extended or expired passports are not accepted.
