NATO has announced a forecast for the end of the war and its possible consequences
A classic military victory for Ukraine or Russia in the current conditions looks unlikely. This position was expressed by Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, on Radio NV, commenting on the situation on the front.
According to him, there are currently about 700 thousand Russian military personnel in the territory under Russian occupation, which complicates the possibility of their withdrawal from there and should be an important lesson for the allies. Bauer also noted that the course of the war could have been different if Ukraine had received the necessary assistance during the active phase of the counteroffensive in 2022.
“If we had provided all the necessary support to Ukraine in the period from April to August 2022, when Ukrainian forces successfully recaptured the territory from the Russians, the outcome of the military operations would probably have been significantly different,” the admiral said.
He is convinced that Russia has suffered a strategic defeat that has no analogues, since its economic and political stability is significantly dependent on China. Without Beijing’s support, Russia will find it difficult to continue the war.
Concluding his remarks, Bauer emphasized that he does not see any scenario in which Russia could achieve a military victory, considering it impossible from a military point of view.
