Suspicion raised against a soldier from the Kharkiv CCC who struck a man during an inspection
In Kharkiv, a serviceman of the territorial recruitment center was suspected of using force against a civilian during a document check.
The incident occurred on May 11, when representatives of the CCC stopped the man for a check. It turned out that he was a history teacher. One of the service members hit him, and the situation was recorded on a video that gained wide publicity on the networks.
The victim contacted the police, who opened criminal proceedings under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns hooliganism.
The police have already reported the serviceman to the suspicion. If proven guilty, he faces up to five years in prison.
The territorial recruitment center noted that the conflict, in their opinion, was provoked by the civilian himself, but they did not provide any details about his behavior. At the same time, the CCC does not support the actions of its employees and has launched an internal investigation.
Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov emphasized that the victim had legal “armor” and provided documents during the inspection. In his opinion, the man did not show aggression and acted calmly. The video confirms this, showing that he did not provoke a conflict and did not resist but nevertheless became a victim of violence.
