Conditions for the discharge of a female serviceman from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2025

Women serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine have equal rights and obligations to those of men, but they are also granted additional privileges related to motherhood and childrearing.

Among such privileges is the possibility of dismissal from the army under certain circumstances. For example, a female military servicewoman has the right to temporarily leave the service during pregnancy or during leave to care for a child up to the age of three.

Additionally, women are permitted to leave the service early if their child requires home care due to medical reasons. The documents determine the duration of this dismissal, but it does not exceed the child’s six-year age.

Dismissal is also possible for women whose husbands are military personnel if the family has minor children under the age of 18. These provisions are designed to protect the interests of families and ensure the provision of proper care for children.

Such legislative provisions demonstrate Ukraine’s commitment to considering the unique aspects of women’s military service and facilitating their ability to balance a military career with family responsibilities, thereby creating more equitable conditions for all soldiers.

It also became known that students may be subject to mobilization in June, and lawyers noted that most searches are illegal, calling for caution on the part of the CCC and the police.
