Currency exchange with new rules: PrivatBank announced important changes

Privatbank has expanded the functionality of its ATMs by introducing the ability to automatically exchange currency, as reported on the financial institution’s official website.

Now, users can exchange cash dollars and euros for hryvnias for free directly at ATMs of the ATM-Recycler type.

The exchange process is as simple as possible: the user inserts foreign currency banknotes, after which the ATM immediately issues the required amount in hryvnias in cash. Please note that the money is not credited to the card account, and the exchange is conducted at the current bank rate.

However, there are restrictions: no more than $1,000 or €1,000 can be exchanged per transaction. If the exchange amount is not multiple, the balance (up to 100 hryvnias) is automatically transferred to the user’s bank card or mobile account.

Also, Privatbank reminded us that cards that have been forgotten or removed from ATMs are not returned. In the event of card loss, please get in touch with the bank to request a replacement. This applies to both Private cards and cards of other financial institutions. Holders of cards from different banks should contact their respective service organizations in the event of loss.

This new service is available exclusively at specialized ATM-Recycler ATMs, which offer enhanced cash handling capabilities and provide customers with convenient and reliable service.

Recall that earlier, Privatbank delayed social payments: the money is being returned to the state. Additionally, news emerged in the information space that the bank had accidentally issued a loan and increased costs, which raised concerns among customers about the safety of their money.
