Arrested apartments in Kyiv will be provided to displaced people

The arrested real estate in Kyiv is planned to be repurposed for the needs of internally displaced persons and people who lost their homes as a result of the war.

This information was revealed by Timur Tkachenko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, in his post.

He noted that last week, he held a working meeting with Olena Duma, the head of the Assets Tracing and Management Agency (ARMA). The parties discussed the possibility of establishing a joint mechanism for allocating arrested apartments to meet the community’s needs.

“Kyiv is currently not only the capital but also an important base for Ukrainians who have lost their homes. We cannot ignore these challenges,” Tkachenko emphasized.

This initiative, a collaboration between the KMVA and ARMA, will serve as a pilot. If it is successful, it is planned to expand to other regions of Ukraine. Tkachenko noted that the capital has all the necessary resources to implement this project, and their proper use is essential.

The KMVA stated its readiness to support such initiatives because it concerns “specific assistance to specific people.”
