Combat units: features of mobilization after 50 years

According to current legislation, all men aged 18 to 60 are subject to mobilization. Although possible exceptions for individuals over 50 are occasionally discussed, there are currently no official changes or special conditions in place for this age category. What positions do men over 50 hold, and where are they sent?

Age is not an obstacle to mobilization.

Men over 50 are included in the mobilization list on the same basis as younger ones. Even at 59, a citizen can be drafted without any legal violations. At the same time, experts believe that mobilization at this age may be inappropriate since a service member has the right to be discharged by age 60.

However, nothing prevents men after 60 from voluntarily joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And if a person has a desire to serve the country, they cannot be refused.

What positions do men over 50 hold?

Scientists explain that those who are mobilized and over 50 years old are usually assigned to rear units. Such positions include drivers, electricians, signallers, repairers, cooks, and accountants.

At the same time, even considering their age, men can serve in combat units if it corresponds to their desire and health.

Recall that earlier, it was reported that women would be restricted from traveling abroad in June. It also became known who would receive summonses and who would receive a fine from territorial recruitment centers.
