Serhiy Nayev transferred command of the new corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Vugledar direction
Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev has completed his duties as commander of the Vugledar tactical group. He announced this in his address, emphasizing that the decision was made at the order of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Together with the officers of the department, we are leaving one of the hottest areas in the Donetsk region. In the future, the implementation of tasks in this region will be entrusted to one of the newly created military corps of Ukraine,” his statement said.
Nayev also expressed gratitude to the benefactors who provided significant support to the units throughout the rotation. He noted that thanks to this assistance, it was possible to respond promptly to challenges and strengthen the country’s defense capabilities.
During the four months of rotation, the tactical group “Vugledar” destroyed:
19,608 enemy soldiers, of which 9,692 were eliminated, and 9,916 were wounded
74 tanks
138 armored combat vehicles
316 artillery systems
1,296 units of automotive equipment
In addition, the Ukrainian military was able to hold key positions in critical areas, catch the enemy in an ambush seven times, and improve tactical conditions five times, preventing a breakthrough deep into the country.
“Thanks to the coordination, professionalism, and determination of our officers, we were able to restrain the pressure in critical areas, disrupt the enemy’s plans, and show initiative in situations where it seemed impossible,” the general noted.
He also emphasized that the highest priority for him is the life and health of service members.
“I believe that victory should be achieved not through ‘meat attacks,’ but through wisdom, precise planning, ingenuity, and effective use of technology,” Nayev concluded.
Ukrainian service members in one of the areas in the Donetsk region continue to restrain the offensive of Russian troops successfully.
