New conditions for accruing pensions: what changes await future pensioners

The Luhansk Oblast Pension Fund Office has clarified how wages are taken into account when applying for an old-age pension. The basis for the calculation is earnings for the period starting from July 1, 2000. This period is used to determine the insurance period and the amount of pension payments that will be made during that period.

Users can also provide a certificate of their wages for any 60 consecutive months up to the specified date. Although such a certificate is not mandatory, it can be helpful in situations where a person received a significant salary or worked at multiple jobs simultaneously before 2000.

The certificate is issued by the organization or enterprise where the person worked and is based on accounting documents that record the accrual of wages. In the event of the enterprise’s closure, the legal successor or archive can provide the necessary information.

Representatives of the Pension Fund note that if earnings before 2000 were lower than those after, this will be taken into account; however, it will not significantly affect the size of the pension.

Therefore, income data before July 2000 are not decisive if they are lower than more recent indicators. However, in cases of high income, it is worth obtaining a certificate, which can help increase the size of future pension payments.
